@Adamc2326 -i can't see anything to get rid of there (processes). i think we should revert to the logfile suggestions for now, ie --> and of course i need some help off someone re the disks, they could well be a factor too....
Hi Creaky Thank you so much for spending so much time on this, in your last two comments you have mentioned my discs. I am taking you are talking about the dvd discs I am using to burn on? If so I have recently changed my type of disc and am now using imation dvd-r 8x compatible 4.7gb - 120min. Could changing my discs cause a problem? I am trying to think back but I can not remember if when I changed discs that it started taking twice as long to be truthful never really gave it a thought. Adam
nooooooo, not Imation. Ah well, let's do a dvdinfopro check onn one of those Imations in case there's an outside chance they're not *cough* utter rubbish *cough* No worries about helping, it doesn't take too long at all. Now i'll cross my fingers about the media code for the Imations.....
soz, thought one of us had mentioned how to do it before. download dvdinfopro (free, pick the one with adverts) and do a media info check (2nd icon from top left of dvdinfo. paste the details here. Imation unfortuantely, like Memorex, are everywhere, hence why ppl buy them thinking they must be good. But they use widely differing manufacturers such as CMC, thus nasty quality discs that are barely good enough for data never mind movies. Also have a quick look at the 2nd link in my signature for more Imation info.
Ok so downloaded dvdinfopro and pressed the second tab here is image i saw, dont really know what im looking for. Could you recommend a good disc to use?? Would it be worth me buying one of these discs then retry a burn to see if anything different happens?? http://img275.echo.cx/my.php?image=dvdinfopro9va.jpg Is this what you needed??? Adam
that's the 3rd tab, we need the 2nd tab..... as to media, i'm biased, Verbatim [bold]datalifeplus[/bold]. What i can see from your screenshort you just posted is you can't use +R format discs, only -R. Provided of ourse, you fix the other problems i highlighted in analysis of your logfile......
http://img188.echo.cx/my.php?image=dvdinfopro5hq.jpg This is the image for second tab being the media tab. I will take your biased opinion and try the disc you recommend from reading through your foroums you 100 percent know what your talking about. Adam PS yes I can only use dvd-r it will not accept any kind of dvd + r disc.
that's still the 3rd (drive info) tab. i do joke at about good/crap media a lot, but the bottom line is that top quality media really isn't any more expensive than crap or questionable media. I myself got stung by wating lots of money on crap, and like to persuade other ppl to avoid crap.
Hiya i am following this thread with lots of interest coz i have exactly the same problem. When i checked my nerohistory it came up with the following: Physical memory : 254MB (260592kB) Free physical memory: 28MB (29020kB) Memory in use : 88 % Quite worrying! So i thought i would use the above msconfig to find out where all my ram is going. Now a few months ago i 'tidied' up my computer and unfortunately when i click start i don't get the run box anymore. Any suggestions as to what to do? thank you
The tab i pressed is the MediaQ is that not the right one should I have a disc in or anything, I do just press the tab nothing else I need to do is there? Hi rjbsmum I hope this is helping you I hope you agree with me that creaky is a giving excellent service and has excellent patience. Adam ))
