dvd burning

    i burned a vhs onto my harddrive and now i am tring to burn it to dvd and when i do a error comes up and says writor error Illegal request (invalid address for write) i have tryed using different software but all i want is to burn a dvd and i dont think it should be this hard. is there an easier way to burn a dvd im a beginner so please give me your expertise.

    How big is your file and what program/s are you using?

    my video file is 2.5 gb and i am tryin to use sateira cd and dvd burning ive tryed burn4free and others but they all say the same thing

    What do you mean you burn a VHS to your hard drive?

    Do you mean capture the input from your VCR to your PC capture card? And if the answer is yes, what format is the captured video in (AVI, MPG, DVD VIDEO( ?
