My dvd/cd drive which i installed about five months has been working fine. Now when I try to install a backed up pc game, it wont even register that something is in my d drive. Old games work fine so maybe it is my writer? Someone suggested I update my firmware but that did not help. Any ideas?

Linus Sounds like a copywrite protection thingy. Try this out. http://www.gameburnworld.com/securompatches.htm

Hopefully this still works. IT should emulate Securom and allow your backup to work. This is my best guess other than the dirty lense thought.
