I am having problems with DVD Cloner. It is not allowing me to select a target to burn movies to. I have had no problems using it before now, and have been able to burn 20+ movies already. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions
Are you talking about DVD Cloner 2? Have you tried re-installing? Also your nick "DVDfoFree", if you are talking about DVD Cloner 2 ... you paid around $69. Read this thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/92001
Yeah, I am referring to DVD Cloner 2. And unfortunately, I did pay for it. So my nick should be DVDfo69. Anyhow, I have tried reinstalling the program, and it didn't help.
Don't feel bad, I also bought DVD Cloner 2 ... then found A/D and discovered other ways to backup. But anyhow, let's get it working since you've already got it. What version is it? Can you post your system specs? So it won't even start the read process? Have you swithed media?
Sorry for the delay flip, I was gone for the holiday weekend. As I had mentioned, DVD Cloner used to work. Now it doesn't even select a source drive to send the copied DVDs to. I have DVD Cloner 2.3 My system specs are as follows: DELL Dimension 4550, Pentium 4 2.53 GHz 512 mb RAM, 140GB HD EMPREX DVD-ROM USB 1008UI WIN XP, ATI All in wonder Pro
I did use DVD Cloner 2.2, but I found out what was wrong, but it doesn't make sense to me. I reinstalled the new version of Nero. The demo copy had expired at the end of June. Upon reinstalling the new demo copy, I have full function of DVD Cloner. Does that make any sense??? I don't see the need to have NERO, nor do I plan on purchasing it. Any suggestions on what to do??
I tried doing that and it didn't work. I followed the instructions on the link that you provided. As soon as I uninstalled NERO, DVD Cloner wouldn't recognize the target folder.
Nope, It is still not recognizing the target drive of DVD Cloner 2.3 I even uninstalled DVD Cloner 2.3 and retried DVD Cloner 2.2 It appears that DVD Cloner will not work if there isn't NERO isn't installed on the computer. That's a bunch of horse@$%& if that's the case. I have searched these boards and haven't found anything remotely close to this problem.
try running Nero's cleaning tools. Then uninstall dvd cloner, reboot, and re-install dvd cloner. Nero's cleaning tools: http://www.nero.com/us/631938356101755.html _X_X_X_X_X_[small]Dell 8250, Pentium 4 2.80GHz 1.5 GB RDRAM, 200GB HD TDK 840G, Sony DDU-1612 DVD-ROM XP Pro, ATI All-In-Wonder 9000 Pro Gateway 450, Pentium III 450MHz 384 MB SDRAM, 160GB HD NEC 2100A, LiteOn LTD-163 DVD-ROM XP Pro, 16MB nVidia RIVA TNT[/small]
Unfortunately, this didn't work either. I successfully cleaned NERO, then uninstalled DVD Cloner 2.3 and reinstalled that. After that didn't work, I tried to install DVD Cloner 2.2 after uninstalling DVD Cloner 2.3--Still nothing.
hmm ... very odd. Your problem is, DVD Cloner isn't seeing you burner. Right? You could try uninstalling your burner, rebooting and let XP re-install it. You know they say DVD Cloner is "DVD Shrink" ... and Shrink doesn't burn on it's own. It need's decrypter or nero... So it looks like your version your installing is missing the burning engine. Have you tried to re-download DVD Cloner2?
DVDfoFree, I was thinking today about this. When I first bought DVD Cloner 2 (April 11th) ... I too had some problems. It would read up to 100% then do nothing. When I was e-mailing back and forth with their tech support ... they had me do what I thought was odd at the time. They gave me a link to download nero 5.5 w/ a keygen. Didn't think much of it, cause now I've got Nero 6... but know with your problems. I don't know if you've read the thread about DVD Cloner 2 being DVD Shrink http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/92001, but Shrink doesn't burn ... it needs DVD Decrypter or [bold]Nero[/bold].
Thanks for all of your help. I will get in contact with their tech support and hopefully get a keygen for Nero.
