I have never had a problem with DVD decrypter until recently. When I started having problems with DVD decrypter I switched to DVDFab. DVDFab will not work either. I am using the latest version of DVD decrypter, windows xp home edition, a Compaq Presario SR125ONX computer and a double layer 8x DVD +- r/rw. Any help would be appreciated.

As a newbie to the DVD scene at large it is not surprising that I should have at least one problem, so here it is.

I have used my DVD drive to rip, shrink and burn protected DVD's onto backup disks. The process being the usual. I rip with DVDfab or DVD Decrypter, and then shrink through DVDshrink. And usually IMGBurn afterwards. All of these programs are of the latest versions as far as I could find, and I am using disks that are undamamged.

The problem emerges when when I attempt to rip files from some DVD's and at a certain point, say 30% complete, I get an error that reports that there was an error while reading, and I can abort, retry, or ignore. My only guess is that there is some protection on the disk which cannot be decoded, which does not make sense, because this disk is older than some others that I have completed without incident.

I have tried two versions of DVDfab, and DVD Decrypter, and the result is the same. So my request is only for some enlightenment as to why I canno rip certain disks, and if there is a way to remedy the problem. Any and all responses will be appreciated! Thanks.

    couple things to note/try

some apps conflict with eachother only keep on your system what you need

try the trial of anydvd running in background while ripping with another app like dvd shrink...

some brand new dvds sealed then you open up clean wont rip as they are bad pressings (return to shop) and get another...
