This is the error I've begun to get from Decrypter. I use Shrink and Decryter to back up, and up to now have had zero problems. I'm using Verbatim DataLifePlus discs, and have had zero problems with them too. I've been experimenting with a RW disc, so as to avoid making more coasters. Here's a copy of the log on my last attempt. Anyone have any ideas what's happening? Did a quick search, but I didn't see any references to this. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

DVD Decryter log (the last few lines):

It looks like the error is in the writing speed the disc has been indentified as 1x
but three lines below the write speed is a MAX
    .............................

that line should show the disc write speed 1x

It may pay to uninstall the program and re-install it.

    regards gringle

Ok, so I uninstalled and reinstalled Decrypter, tried another burn on my RW disc, and everything was cool.
    Yay!!

I throw in a -R disc and the thing craps out on me again. Doh!!

Here's a copy of the (last part) of the log.

that shouldn't matter. my drive will do both.

At any rate, I think I've fixed the problem. Right about the time things started going wrong, I had burned a CD with Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum (for the first time since using Decrypter) and my wife installed Microsoft's Anti-spyware software, which was running in the background. I've uninstalled both, uninstalled and reinstalled Decrypter, and have since run 3 successful burns. I'm guessing Microsoft's Anti-spyware was trying to access the drive periodically and buggering up the burn in progress. Any other theories would be apprieciated tho. :)

    first dvd decrypter
    reboot pc
    then dvd shrink
    reboot pc
    then dvd decrypter
    try that.
it works for me great (if I have good dvd:s. now I don´t..)

I have both Dvd Shrinker and Dvd Decrypter installed, but when I use dvd shrinker it takes 3 to 4 hours to encode...way too long so I use Dvd Decrypter. Dvd Decrypter will decrypt the movie fine, but after it decrypts I guess that's where Im lost. I want to take that decrypted info and burn to dvd. Under the file tab next to edit I not getting the option to write.

it has to be an ISO "file" and look how big the file is. do you have 4,7 gb dvd:s?...
That´s why you have to shrink it first from like 8gb:s to 4.40 gb~
    first decrypt to FILE
    then reboot pc
then shrink it to ISO "file" (it takes to shrink 2-3 hours)
    then reboot pc
then burn it whit decrypter. (2,4x it takes 24 minutes)
Now you can burn it as often you want from ISO "file" and it takes 24 minutes or less if your pc is fast(4x..)and if you have the GOOD dvd:s!

    1. open files>your file
    2.I erase menus(you don´t need them.)> go to Re-author
    3. drag main movie(title 1)whit mouse to left
4.then push >< button (ubove size text)then cut the ending texts away(you don´t need them..)you can cut from the start of the film few seconds sometimes..
5.then compression settings> your language text only> erase like portugese/germany dubbings
6.then video. custom ratio> it has to be over 74%
7.back to dvd browser>now you can drag some extras to left(below your main movie) if your movie is 100%-80% and do the same(60% is enough).
your movies and extras has to fit in the "green line"
8.when you have done this and your movie is over 74% push packup! Here select packup target> ISO image file and burn with dvd decrypter.
9.then quality settings> perform deep analysis.
    10.dvd region>region free.
    11. then push OK.
12.DO NOT burn straight away with dvd decrypter after shrinking! Reboot your pc first!
You have to have the latest dvd shrink version to do like this!

I didn't fix the problem after all. Burn I attempted last night failed. Same error "incompatible filetype".

Up to this point I had 0 problems with Decrypter. I could burn immediately after using shrink and any time after that. Now it's a luck of the draw scenario. Maybe I'll try restarting before each burn. Bah, for all I know, I've got a bad batch of disks.

    ScubaPete where are you?! ;P
