Sounds like a media problem. What brand media are you useing and what is the media code? What speed are you burning?

Use this little proggy (free) and tell us the media code and MID. http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/
Try burning at 2x untill you get the problem figured out. The TDK is usually good media but I've never heard of the GQ. For vidio reproduction you need good, high quality, proven media with an even azo dye layor. Taiyo Yuden and Verbatum Datalife Plus are the best. Some other good media is Maxell, branded Ritek Ridata, Ricohjpn, and usually sony and Fuji. Stay away from memorex, generic, and retail store brand eg: staples, comp usa media.

This probably won't solve your problem but to prevent further trouble in the future, open shrink click on edit click on preferences change dvd target size to custom and type in 4350. This will prevent it from burning to the far outer edge of the disc (this is where some of the cheaper media have problems with the dye layor). You can set the burn speed after you hit the backup tab.

You can only get branded TY's online. Some other media brands buy their media from TY but there's no way to be sure thats what you're going to get and there are a lot of fakes out there too. Try meritline or supermediastore for genuine branded Taiyo Yuden's. Newegg and rima might have em too.
