My intention is to create backups of my origional dvd's. Should I use Dvd Decrypter or ImgBurn to rip and burn the dvd image?

The reason I ask is because I have read that ImgBurn will not let one copy dvds because its a "legal revision" of Dvd Decrypter.

Correct. Imgburn does not decrypt. You will need either DVDFab Decrypter (free) or AnyDVD (retail) to use prior to burning.

And Dvd Decrypter won't rip many new movies either. Get one or both of the 2 programs bilbo65 suggested.
