dvd disc is to small

    can someone help me
    i have tryed to back up a disc which is 3 hrs long and the discs are only 2 hrs
    i have used dvd shrink 3.2
    is there a disc out there that is bigger than 4.7gbs
    or can you spilt the disc up and back it up using 2 discs
    help me please

    Yes there is. They are dual layer discs which hold almost twice as much and cost about 15 times as much.

    Yes there is a way of doing it but I've never bothered as I've never found it necesary to do it.

    Hang on and someone else will pop along and explain how to do it.

    Doesnt shrink allow you to compress the dvd so it will fit onto a 4.7gb disc? I know xcopy does, Ive read that shrink can too.

    You are right, shrink should be able to do it but sometimes if the movie file is really huge then it can't cope.
    Probably better to use RB/CCE anyway if the file is that big, but thats another story.
