See, I know how to copy dvds onto my hard drive. Evertime I get finished it says that the dvd contains a total of 6 GB on up. Just recently, I just purchased some DVD + R DL disc with the total amount of 8 GB. Are these the right kind of disc to purchase or not. If so, please tell me what I am doing wrong. I also have some DVD-R disc with the total amount of 4.7 GB. Are these the right discs or not.

of course those type of media are compatible, but there is a application called 'dvd shink' which you may be interested in, and it does what it claims, shrinks your oversized vobs to a standard dvd specification. 4.7/4.3 gb. and burns to disk in the same movement.

    its very good
