    Hi

I'm having a problem. I have a couple DVDs here, and when I put them in my DVD drive, I get nothing.

I don't get anything in the drive folder, and the computer does nothing.

The drive is a Generic DVD-Rom SCSI CDRom Device.

I'm running windows XP and I'm using ASPI version 4.71.2.0

Also, tried changing regions and I got the following error:
"Unable to update region setting. Please make sure the device contains a region 4 media and you have administration privledge."

    Any help is appreciated, cheers.

i am not sure but it sounds like the lens in your reader has gone out of focus.this can be rectified but i have heard from some guys that it is a time consuming proses therefore you r better of bying a new one.

it might help to go to your manufactures home page and download a patch, that might be needed due to sp2,
but i will bet anything that the reader in the lens have gone out of focus(i know from experience)
