ok firmware is updated dvd wont burn on blank dvds i have a sohw-1213s i have tried many differnt brands. perfectly burn blank cds i uninstall and reinstall i uninstalled and unpluged it from my computer and put it back.. does anyone have any software for an sohw-1213 i might be able to reinstall? also when i put a blank dvd it changes to a cd drive. like so from this.. dvd-rw(e drive) to this..cd drive (e drive) it recognizes it as a blank dvdr but dosnt burn help!
That is normal for My Computer to show that drive as a CD-drive when blank dvd is inserted.Notice the Bold DVD-R under that E drive icon-it knows there's a dvd in it. Did you go through device manager/cdrom dvd drives/click drivers tab/unistall drivers/and reboot? Are those drives configured correctly? The Jumper pins on the back of the drive matching the corrector connector of your IDE ribbon? Your C drive should be Primary master. The E and F drives can be configured a couple different ways. Your reader drive,Secondary Master-set jumpers to MA Your burning drive,Secondary slave,unless you got a dell and you'll have to use Cable select-C/S.Set jumpers to SL or CS. Make sure all cables are seated correctly. What's the current firmware version? What's the brand name and speed rate of those blank -r's?
