DVD Drive problem, please help.

One day I was burning a CD. In the middle of the burn, it cancelled and said the burn could not be completed. After trying to insert a new disk, it said:

Please insert a disk into drive D.

When I go to my computer, and open the D Drive I get the following error message:

D:\\ is not accesible because of an I/O error.

Could anyone please give me a suggestion on how to get it working?

If you have windows XP this article at microsoft should be the answer. It seems pretty easy. Hope it works.

I have done that previously, and it did nothing. Are there any other suggestions?
