My DVD drive will only read a disc if the computer is restarted with the disc already in the drive. Then if I put another one in I need to restart the computer again. I have tried: System Restore to before the problem started- Reinstalled and updated the driver- Checked the registry- 2 Different DVD Drives- And even removing every program that uses the DVD drive, ie DVD Decrypter & Nero. Tried Different cables and different sockets on the motherboard. One drive is IDE and two are SATA and all have the same problem. I cant even reinstall windows because it wont boot from the Windows 7 DVD. Everything else on the computer works perfectly. The SATA HDD, Graphics Card and Memory card reader. Also just tried Changing the drive letter but still having issues. I am really at a loss and any ideas will be helpful.
