My DVD drive went crazy over the weekend it won't play any audio cd's or DVD's. I thought it might be shot so i went to best buy i bought a new one. I install the new drive reboot the pc and the computer does not recognize my new drive or my DVD writer. So I unplug the new DVD drive reinstall the old DVD drive and reboot and both drives appear. I know a little about computers but this doesnt make any sense.

check the back end of the drives & you'll see a colored jumper on either master, slave or cable select. put jumper on new dvd to same setting as old dvd but which is different from dvd burner
