My DVD Drives keep losing the property settings for recording and sometimes the drives don't even show when a DVD is inserted in them. So because of these problems I can't record.
I have reset the proerty settings and reinstalled the DVD Drives but the settings don't hold. Does anyone know what is causing this and what I can do about it?

What do you mean by property settings?

Are you talking about the burn settings revert to default after closing and reopening your burning/decrypting software or is there something wrong with your drive in device manager?

Check you have set up the dvd burners as master and slave do not use cable select, there should be a diagram on the top of the dvd drive case that shows where the bridge should be

There should be no settings in properties to adjust unless you have purposely disabled one of the drives and you want to renable
