I've been having problems playing back dvd-r backups of movies I've ripped using DVDbackup, then dvd2one, then burning it to cd-r using the copy command on Toast 6.0.3
I vaguely remember one single instance where it worked fine, but in all subsequent attempts, no dvd-r film has been ever able to load on the ps2.

The dvd-r backups DO play on most other commercial standalone units (like the old panasonic dvd player I got from Target awhile back).

Does anybody know what the issue is or has encountered the same problem?

It's not that important....it's just an annoying problem, if anything. The only dvd player I own besides the one on my computer (which playsback the movie fine) is the ps2 connected to my 32" tv. It would be nice to watch movies on the 32" screen.

To burn the movie choose the data tab and select DVD-ROM (UDF) in Toast. All my backups work perfectly on my PS2 and do not know of any one having your problems. Use good quality DVD-R's.

I meant data tab, same one you are using.

What kind of media are you using? Which ones do you recommend?
