    I just completed burning my first dvd+r. It plays in my computer but is not recognized or read in my dvd player. Does anyone have any advice?

    Loads of possible reasons as to why it doesn't play..lol.. A little bit more info on which programs you used to create the dvd would be helpful. What files are on the finished dvd? and if your dvd player is a bit older then it might not support the DVD+r disc. Its also possible that your DVD player doesn't like the make of disc. What discs are you using??

    Hey evolyb -

    Is your dvd player compatible to play DVD+R? That could be a potential issue. Check your DVD players owner manual ..

    Here's a quick read on this topic at the following;

    http://www.digitalfaq.com/othervideo/dvdformats.htm

    Hope this helps ..

    I just did a quick search on your DVD player (GoVideo DVR4400) and found;

    Supported Disc Formats:
    DVD
    Audio CDs
    VCDs
    CD-R
    CD-RW

    Looks like it doesn't support DVD-R or +R .. but, I'd double check your manual .. Cheers
