I burn DVD no problems, most of the time, but my question is this: is it normal for it not to play on some home dvd players. I have some friends for who the dvd plays no problems but for others it gets so far in and then breaks up. I use the following software to rip with:

    Smartripper
    DVD2AVI
    TmpGenc
& Finally DVD Movie Factory to burn.

Is there a better way to do it?

    pgreen50,

    The answer is - YES!

Some standalone players like certain media, see the owner's manual.

Is there a better way, probably - - or not, depends on your tastes –

there are maybe 10 or 20 different ways, maybe more?

There are certainly simpler ways to go -

Your 3 different programs can be replaced with [bold]one single program[/bold] and then your burning -
