Help! I simply cannot figure this out. I have a DVD movie saved on my hard drive. I can play it perfectly in Nero 7 ShowTime, but if I use Nero Recode 2 to try and make a copy of it, when I try to play any part of the video in the bottom left window both the video/audio skip. I know it is not a problem with the saved files because it happens with all movies, and if I take my hard drive to someone else's computer, they can do it OK. I am running XP SP2 with a 2.4 GHz P4 and 768 MB of RAM. My graphics card is an NVIDIA GeFore4 MX 440 with AGP8x. Unfortunately, Nero charges a lot for support and NVIDIA won't help me at all. I hope someone has an idea, as I am all out of ideas. When this is happening, I can see that my CPU is only used about 50%, so I don't think I've maxed out computing power. It simply makes no sense that I can play it OK in ShowTime, but in the Recode 2 program, I cannot play it OK. FYI - the same thing happens with DVD Shrink 3.2; in that the video/audio skip when I try to play it in the lower left window of the recode screen so I don't think it is a Nero bug. WMP 10 lets me play it OK too. So it just seems that in both recode programs, Nero Recode 2 and DVD Shrink 3.2 that it doesn't play OK in the little lower left window. HELP! and thanks...
It burns OK so I know there is nothing wrong with the actual files. But it is really annoying that I cannot play the DVD while I'm trying to use Recode to reauthor it. I dont understand how I can play the movie from my hard drive with ShowTime perfectly, but if I use the Recode 2 program, I cannot play any it in there (in the little video subframe in the lower left). The video is jumpy and the audio stutters. It makes it hard to reauthor/edit the video when you can't play it in Recode 2. Ideas? Thanks...
That little screen is only a preview window... It's really so you can see the rendering quality. I use Recode 2 90% of the time and never had problems with it! This is how i do it: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/316083
