I just started backing up dvd's i buy, I've been using "dvd decrypter" and nero to back them up. all as been well until recently. Whenever I back them up, I only add the main title to copy, no menu's or extras. Some of the latest movies I've tried, are blank in the start for quite awhile, then the movie starts playing fine. Even in the nero preview before the burn it takes quite awhile for the movie to start. I'm not really sure how to fix this, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm a noob so dummy instructions if you got em.

When you Re-author > Main Movie only, on a disc that has this Structure Protection errors, you should use Start/End Frames settings to remove the blank frames.

The blank frames are the area where the Stucture Protection was. The original disc has an IFO file that skips those blank frames, but the protection is there in those structure protected sectors and causes backup problems unless removed with DVD Decrypter or AnyDVD.

When you Re-author those blank frames are no longer skipped because DVD Shrink(Nero Recode) rewrites the IFO file. Using Start/End Frames removes those blank frames and writes the IFO file so that it begins where it has been edited to start.
