Hello all, I am having a problem and I need to rectify, but unsure as to what to do. I have 2 Macs- Both G4s- a 400MHz, and a 466. The 400 has an NEC 1300a with Toast 6.03, 384 MB ram OS 10.3.2. The 466 Has HP DVD Writer 300nToast 6.03, 512 MB ram OS 10.3.2. Using the 466, I can write a dvd (UDF) that will play in all my dvd players (Toshiba(old), Apex (new), Sony (new), and my Macs) Using the 400, I cannot get them to play in any but my Apex, and computers. I have used the SAME Media (from same spindle..2 makers..Ritek, and Digital Matrix DVD+r media). I have even gone to the lengths of making a toast image, and using the SAME image on the 2 systems. I know I will have to replace something...Question is.. what. Is it the burners?? is it the Memory? Is it the CPUs? Is it the Media?? If I throw more money at this, I want to be confident in which to buy. Thanks for ALL the help. Larry
Those are very interesting results. My first impression is that it is the burner that's making the difference. I would move parts from computer to computer, starting by switching burners to see if that solves it. I use an HP internal burner in a firewire enclosure on Ritek +RW media without any problem Good luck. Greg
