Book typing is when you "booktype" your dvd+r as a DVD-ROM so it can be compatable in more players.
THe player thinks its reading a dvd-rom (stamped) and it is really a dvd+r

I was wondering if there are any applications that can do this for mac. I researched for ever on google and found nothing. If anyone knows anything about the subject please Post!!

As I understand it, DVD-R can't be bitset, as the area for this is overwritten during the disc production process. The ability to bitset a DVD+R on a Mac usually falls to the ability of the firmware of the DVD drive. There is a really good forum on optical drives, with sub-forums on individual drive manufacturers at:

You should find your answer there.

Right, I found out that a DVD-R cant have the bitset set, but you can only set the bitset with a DVD+R drive, I have a DVD+/-R drive.
