I've been backing up DVDs for a while now, probably just over 40 so far. I noticed that some people suggest not using cheaper media. I've been using Arita discs and don't get errors too often, is it worth spending a little extra $$ on higher quality blank discs or will it even make a noticeable difference? If so, which should I look at? Thx. for suggestions.

Burned quite a few Aritas myself, mate. Very few problems on movies or games. Bound to get the odd duffer here & there no matter what the media.

Well cheaper media often save problems and you end up burning coasters. I haven't tried Aritas but other discs have problems, especially with movies. Anyway I use TDK 4x bulk discs (without case) which are cheap and reliable.
