So, as you might have gathered from the thread title, I am having problems with my dvd drive.

The drive plays cd's and dvd's
The drive reads and burns blank cd's

But the drive does not read or burn blank dvd's..anymore (I say anymore, because I have burned dvd's with this before.)

The laptop I am using is : PACKARD BELL EASYNOTE G1350

    The DVD-RAM drive is : HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4080N

NOTE: Before you say "It might be a wrong disc type" The drive is a multi burner, burns all types and I have burnt with this type before.

When I put a blank dvd in, the drive tries to read it, I can hear it.. it just makes the loading sound repeatedly, and sounds like a retard.

When I go to burn something to dvd, it says "insert blank dvd" even though there is one in.

Any ideas at what the problem may be?

Maybe you need to buy a new burner?
