    What program did you use to capture the frames? I tried to make a comparison using VirtualDubMod but I keep getting different frames with each encoder, for example Frame 3753 with CCE SP was different than Frame 3753 with HCenc.

    I used VirtualDubMod the same as you. I had no problems with the frames I selected.

    When you used rebuilder pro (1st stage,prepare) did the compression ratio say the same?

    What I did is I used dvd decrypter to rip the whole movie to my HDD then I used rebuilder pro (latest version)to select movie only with no subs and only 5.1 dolby sound.

    EDIT: I would also like to know what programme Ebega used

    The movie was "Hoodwinked" and I used DVD Rebuilder 1.09.3 in "Movie and Menu Only" mode. I don't remember if the compression changed from each encoder but each was set to "Movie and Menu Only". I'll have to test in "Movie Only" mode.

    EDIT: I ripped the original using AnyDVD and DVD Decrypter in "File" mode. The same original rip was used for each encoder.

    If he compression ratio was different that would explain why your frames are not matching.

    I don't see why the compression ration would be different. The DVD and DVD Rebuilder settings were the same, just different encoders.

    Sorry for the long delay in response, a family emergency has kept me away for a few days. Looks like I have some things to address, so here they go:

    Let me first start out by saying 'you're welcome' to all those who have thanked me. I would also like to say thanks to all for the kind words and compliments, and for all the help I have recieved over the last few months from all of AD's great members which has contributed enough to my basic and limited knowledge that has allowed me to create this thread. So thank you all very much.

    Secondly, I think I may have missed something while I was gone. What exactly was L8ter talking about? Do we have members that have left AD? @ L8ter, there is of course no need for an apology on your part, if you feel that your message was best relayed via this thread, then by all means, please do so. Your post was in no way distasteful being one of the many members who never hesitated to lend a helping hand when I needed it, it is the very least I could do.

    @rahzel54
    I used the default settings for CCE, 16 and 25 I think. I can't remember exactly what the values were, but I used the default values.

    @pazzini
    I'm really looking forward to see the results from your tests, I also wanted to include multiple movies as well as transcoders, but just didn't have the time. Sounds like you have some work to do, but I'm sure the final results will be great.

    @rack04
    For video info I used GSpot Codec Info and for frame capture I used VirtualDub Mod. All movies done with DVD-RB Pro (newest) and all frames matched eachother from various encoders. I'm not sure why your frames aren't matching. Look at your log and make sure all are compressed to the same percentage. Did you happen to add something like 'ccetargetsectors' in the RB .ini file? That could result in a different compression ratios.

    Anyways, sorry for the long post, and thank you all again for everything. Truley appreciated.

    No need to apologise ebega as people should understand that we try to help others in our spare time.

    Me like yourself was stunned that helpful people like Brobear and L8ter have been permanantly suspended for what reason I have no idea.

    I second that.

    When I first started using rebuilder and had problems L8ter would always be the first to reply, giving me the advice I needed to get it sorted.

    Yeah they are regulars over there along with sophocles, 64026402, and UcasMS. L8ter goes by L8nights over there. If things keep going down the tubes here, dvdhounds will be my forum of choice too.

    Like brobear and l8ter being permanently suspended. Brobear might have had it coming, he could belittle some members sometimes imho although I never had any major confrontations with him but L8ter didn't deserve that harsh of penalty and will definately be missed, especially in the rb forum. It's got some other long time members uneasy as well. That's all I will say. I don't want a spanking too and this is not the thread to discuss this anyway.

    @rahzel

    Pazzini is correct, I used all default settings other than the number of passes (I used 3 instead of 2).

    Hi :)

    Are you gonig to test the encoders with a different movie?

    The pictures you uploaded I would put them in this order

    1st Procoder2 Winner
    2nd CCE but was a close call with 3rd place HC did a great job
    3rd HC
    4th AutoQmatEnc

    Movie: King Kong, 59.5% compression, movie only

    Original
    [IMG]

    Procoder2
    [IMG]

    CCE
    [IMG]

    Clonedvd2 (took 15min approx)
    [IMG]

    Recode2 (took 1 hour with advanced analysis, high quality mode and AEC set to max smooth)
    [IMG]

    1Click dvd copy pro (took 15 minutes)
    [IMG]

    I have added a transcoders so people can see how much better encoders are to transcoders.

    For Transcoders the compression was at 61%

    Procoder2 mastering quality
    CCE 3 passes, all the rest at default settings

    More to come later.
