1st off before i start i want to apologize if im in the wrong forum for this question.
I want to know what (good) software i can use to rip my dvd's into .avi, divx,or xvid files.
yeah this is a noob question but ive never had to do it that way. I've always burned dvd 2 dvd. I bought a dvd player that plays all those files so i can cut back on DVD's i can fit 4-5 movies on a disc instead of just 1.
this works perfect for movies that arent that great lol.
(or for movies that i want to burn, but i know that ill never get around to watching)

    Thanks
    any help would be appreciated

    Hey

    You can use WinAVIVideoConverter.
    It's really good.

I use mac, and we have Mactheripper to extract movies and handbrake to rip any dvd into many different type of movie format, like xvid and avi like you said.
