I rip DVDs using Mac the Ripper and I used to use ffmpegx to convert them into AVIs, but for some reason ffmpegx has stopped working for me so I'm looking around for a new one.

I'd use Handbrake but I only have 10.3.9 and you need 10.4 for Handbrake!

Any recs? Doesn't have to be freeware, but the less expensive the better of course.

    Thanks in advance!

Yes I have! It still asks me for "Progress.app" when I try to encode and MPlayer still crashes when I try to preview :| I've heard that others have had similar problems with ffmpegx, too.

    Hello, slvtnplt:

After ripping, VisualHub will convert a VIDEO_TS folder to an AVI file; MPEG Streamclip (a free download) is another option.
