I put a big file 1.4gb on a dvd, I want to give my friend the files but her computer does not read dvd's. Is there a way to shrink the files on the dvd to a cd-r so she can install it on her computer?
    Thanks

Simply create a multiple archive (e.g. using WinRAR and 'zero compression'), having a maximum allowed size = 700 MB.

    Then a CD-R will store each part (disk_part1.rar, disk_part2.rar,... disk_partN.rar.

Your friend will then be able to install the stuff by running the DVD once he extracts it from the many RARs on its HD.
