    HI there,
i tried to make a DIVX backup for my DVD by using DrDivx .Drdivx makes it possiple to convert any file into DIvx very easily, but i couldn't use it for DVD-to-DIVx converting . Does anyone know why , and refer any all-in-one tool to do this job more simple than what Afterdawn instructs ?
    Thanks a lot

I'm not a huge fan of Dr. Divx either but it is possible to create a DVD rip with it. You need to rip the entire VIDEO_TS folder to your drive, load the VOB's into DVD2AVI, save your project to .d2v, then load the .d2v file in VFAPI Converter to create a fake avi that Dr. Divx can open.

Well DR. DivX does support MPEG-2 input so perhaps using SmartRipper to rip the movie using stream processing (to rip as 1 file) you could be able to load it straight in without having to use DVD2AVI to serve from it. However, im not sure what Dr. DivX's stand is on Input AC3!

It's true that Dr. Divx accepts mpeg-2 but I would rather frameseve than use Directshow to decode. You'll end up with better quality.

True indeed but my experience with the forum has shown the simpler solution is the best for 90% of users, i mean we could come up with much better quality solutions but we both know a lot of users wouldn't completely understand so I like to keep things simple in case someone is reading the thread and is new1
