Most all standalone players won't play RW media - nothing that you can do about that -

Thanks Pete I just found out my stand alone will play
cd-rw if they are closed. Which I beleve will make the disk unwriterable again

    Hi tjh10066,

You can close a CD-RW or a DVD-/+RW as many times as you want.

The DVD backup procedure is the same for a RW disc as for a R disc. In other words, if you know how to backup your DVD to a DVD-R or +R, just do the same with a DVD-RW or +RW. The only difference is that you can reuse the RW disc for another backup.

Be aware your standalone player might not be able to read -RW discs or +RW discs (or both if you have no luck).
