You can try on www.cucusoft.software-com.com it’s one of the best site on the net for iPod software and converter. Hope this will help you.
    Good luck!

I use DVD Shrink, Handbrake and of course AnyDvd is needed.

By using the process described below, I have converted 4GB DVD movies to 500MB or smaller Ipod Video compliant files. I have a 8GB 3g Video Nano, so given the limited space I need very small movie files.

    Run Anydvd in the background.

    1. Open the DVD with Shrink.
    2. Re-author the DVD to just the Title, cut out the credits and start the Re-author when the movie actually begins.
    3. Compress the file to 2,000MB (I have done this with 6 movies so far with no noticeable loss of quality)
    4. Save the video to you HD with Shrink creating VTS folders.

    5. Open the VTS folder with Handbrake, set the output location.
    6. Click 'Show Presets', select 'Ipod Low-Rez'
    7. Change 'Width/Height' to 320x240.
    8. Select 'Picture Settings' UNCHECK 'Anamorphic PAR' and 'Chapters Makers'
    9. Click 'Video Settings' UNCHECK '2 pass encoding' KEEP Checked 'Turbo Encode 1 pass', change 'Avg Bitrates kbps from default 1500 to 528
    10. Click 'Audio & Subtitles' change Bitrate kbps from default 160 to 112.
    11. Click 'Encode Video' and wait about 2hours.

tucker, I use shrink to shrink the file very small, in the hopes that Handbrake can create an even smaller file in the end.

As it is, most the movies I have done with Shrink and Handbrake end up being 550MB or smaller.

Will handbrake get them that small without first Shrinking it?

honestly i dont recommend handbrake right now i recommend clonedvd mobile from slysoft until handbrakes next release, with clonedvd mobile you will be able to view the video before you encode it to your ipod. hope this helps sorry im changing my mind all the time its just handbrake is an opensource project and is not always reliable.

when you use cucusoft, you can select music video you want to rip by titles so you can get separate output files, or you can rip the whole dvd into one file, depends on what you need.

    Hi Everybody!

I just bought my brand new 80GB iPod Classic, and I'm new at this of converting DVD's to iPod files (MPEG4). I already have the "Cucusoft DVD to Ipod Converter Suite", and I already managed to convert some DVD movies to MPEG4 format and transfer them to my iTunes, and then from my iTunes to my iPod.

The problem is that the movie looks perfectly fine for some minutes in my iPod, but then the image starts skipping back and forward for the rest of the movie, and the sound as well. The same thing happens if I play the movie directly in my iTunes.

I already tried with 9 different Original DVD movies, I have tried changing the settings from 29.97 fps to 23.97 fps and back, I have tried with the default settings, I also tried converting the VOB files... and I always get the same result.

Can you please help me with this? Am I missing to do something? Do I have to change other Output or Input Settings in the Cucusoft Converter? Do I have to change a setting in my PC? Do I have to decode the DVD's before converting them into MPEG4's?

PLEASE HELP ME!! I haven't been able to watch a single movie in my iPod without having this kind of trouble. This is frustrating..!!

    Best Regards!
