I am hoping someone is willing to help. I have been searching for months (and even started a few threads that had no answers). Any quick help is greatly appreciated.

I am trying to create a compilation DVD of my sister-in-law's work. This means I need to:

    1) Rip an episode off of a TV DVD in the highest possible quality that can be added to Encore.
    2) Add that episode to Adobe Encore for burning as part of a compilation DVD

I want to rip at the highest possible quality that will then import into Encore without too much compression loss along the way. I am a registered owner of AnyDVD, CloneDVD, CloneDVD Mobile, Premiere, and Encore. I am certainly open to using any other software.

If you have any knowledge on the topic, your help is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

For an episodic disk, you can try DVD Shrink.
Open the disk and click 'Re-author'
On the right pane should be listed the episodes.
Drag one over to the left pane and click 'Backup'.

You can do the same thing with the old DVD Decrypter (not DVDFab).

Load the disk and select 'IFO Mode' and choose your episode.

In either case you can convert the ripped episode to an mpeg file using VOB2Mpg.
There is no loss of quality either in the ripping or the transcoding.
