Ihave been trying to back-up several of my dvd's they play ok on my dvd player but will not open up on the computer in power dvd / shrink / decrypter clone dvd2 or any other programme any suggestion of how to get them to open up so I can burn a copy
Are you sure you have a DVD-drive (i.e., a DVD-ROM or DVD-burner) in your computer? Maybe you only have a CD-drive in your computer. If you, in fact, have a DVD-drive... then you might have to change the region settings of your drive. Look at tip #1 here: http://www.mrbass.org/dvdnewbie/
Ihave both dvd drive plus dvd rewriter I have backed up other dvd's in my collection I forgot to mention that a window comes up saying no disc in drive or tray not closed both have been checked many times do you still think it may be region settings Adelaide Aussie
