Just for the heck of it, look at this: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters.php?DVDnameid=94&Search=Search&list= I see the newest Bios version is F.35, is that what you show on your machine? I don't know what speed your media is rated, but sometimes a slower rated media will work better at slower speeds. It took me a while to find 2.4x media once for my older HP drive. The Verbatim media I have now shows 1x-2.4x. And, as mentioned, get rid of the Roxio stuff.
@ICEnFIRE You still have the booktyping error. Try changing your booktype here: in Nero Tool Kit> CD-DVD Speed>extra>bitsetting. Change it to +R. You may need to have a blank disc inserted to change it.
Did it. Used that tool.... Yeah, I was using F.30. I flashed the bios with the new F.35 update...... Changed the booktype setting for the dvd-r option to dvd-r...... Early on, you informed me to use the 7.0.8.3 version, included with a link. The install was unsuccessful as it told me my serial # was expired or something along those lines. The earlier thread appeared to be in regards to the person who began hijacking the thread. Burning data-dvds is the only bug I have seen with my use of nero 7, irregardless of what version of 7 it is. @ICEnFIRE Use the serial # from your version of 7 for the download in the link Gwen provided. The one listed in this version on that site has expired. The booktype error is again recieved 1 sec after the burn started. So Nero is still trying to booktype. Most of your burns fail in less than 1 minute. Are data dvd's the only problem you have burning? Can you do video dvd's? Have you had any successful burns since you reformatted? I realize you've had success w/ this media before but it still may be a problem. You can have inconsistency in the same spindle. You can try taking the burn speed down to 2 or even 1 and see if that makes a difference.
Sorry for another delay. Been overly busy.... So I tried burning a data dvd with version 7.0.8.2 and still got an error. I can burn video dvds ok with no problem, just some issue trying to burn with data to a dvd. Ok it's the same failures - logs almost identical. So the only time you have a problem with these discs is when doing a data disc. Video w/ them and Nero is fine. What type of data disc are you trying to burn? Like file types. May need to try another program.
