    Hi,
My DVD Burner was working well for quite sometime, now suddenly its not.

First, when I burn at the maximum speed, the burning process get stuck at 1% then buring fails & of course the burning media is ruined.

Second, when i burn at the slowest speed (4x) it goes fine, but the burning fails if I do "Overburn" which used to work ok before.

I dunno if its hardware, software or burning media problem, below are specs:

    OS: Windows XP Pro (SP2)
    Burning Software: Nero OEM (v6.6.1.4)
Burner: LiteOn 16x Model (SOHW-1653S02C) (2 YEARS OLD)
    Burning Media: imation i-Crystal 4.7GB/120Min (DVD+R)

Thats your problem. Change the media you are using to brands like ritek or Tayio Yudens.

When you get new media take it through a program like DVD Identfier to see what the actual manufacturer is.

    Good Luck :)

That means I can't know the MID unless I buy the media first??? How will I know the good one then??

The ones you usually know that are good you need to look at the packaging and see the small print and see if it says ritek or Tayio Yuden. You can search for these brands online and then see what companies bring them out then you can go purchase them.

Or just purchase one and put it through the program and see.

Where is this small print exactly? On the media itself or the package that comes wiith it?

Its on the packaging. If you look at a spindle it will be on the wrapping around the DVD's and if you get them in casing it would be on the back of the casing.
