    Hey, kindve odd but...

Is there any programs out there that will allow me to burn .avi files onto DVDs to be played back on a DVD player?
I dont need menus or anything extra just a chapter option would be fine (without menu is fine too)

the only thing i need is the program to be able to be installed on an external hard drive and able to use on any computer with a dvd burner. Does that exists?

What you are describing is a data DVD.

The standalone player must be DivX certified and the resolution of the files has a maximum of 720x576,
Note that avi files do not have chapters or menus (except you use an authoring program).

ImgBurn can burn these files and there is a portable version (approved by LIGHTNING! UK) at the link.

After installation on the external/flash drive , run ImgBurn and select 'Write files/folder to disk'
