I don't think it's been tested. My guess is no.

Go to this site and try and log in with the license id and password that you got with the software. If you can log onto the site, check that your internet connection is up when trying to activate and that you are selecting the online activiation method.
If you are using XP,check the network connection and be certain that the internet firewall isn't on.

Flip, would you think it would still work if using single layer disks in the dual layer burner?

    nosbarmad,
Why would you want to purchase DVDXCopy? In my opinion there are lots of better programs available to you right on this site and the best part is the're
    free. They also work!

Well, I already have DVDXcopy Platinum and I have tried the free progs which are ok. I think DVDXcopy is fantastic, and is in fact better and easier than the freebies. No fuss copying great programme, although the disk splitting doesn't seem to work for me.

Xcopy software does work with the NEC2510a dual layered burner. I've tested the software on the NEC, but only with single-layered disk.

Thanks Sucker, you certainly are the man (or woman).
I take it then that xcopy software would work on the new 8x and 12x burners too? Although may as well buy dual layer I guess. What speed does the NEC burn a single layer disk at? Would love to know if xcopy works on dual layer disks too, no compression needed when those disks drop in price.

    nosmarbad,

You should be fine burning single layer discs. What problems are you having with spitting? I've only done it a couple of times .. don't really like it, uses two discs :) lol

I also have a copy of DVD X Copy Platinum that I purchased a while ago. I registered by phone originally and have had no probelms. My computer crashed and I am now trying to load the software on my new computer and I type in my license ID and Password and use the phone option and input the first of 2 passwords I had from previously registering and it comes back with invalid password. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can the software activated.

Nosmarbad ,you can create an ISO file with dvdxcopy then burn it with the software supplied with your dual layer burner.
I have the Sony dual layer burner ,and use nero's latest software which comes with it.Its fast, making a full movie backup in approx 1 hr.
Not many can compare to this.
Yes and xcopy will burn straight to the single layer discs using a dual layer burner.

    321sucker,

Thanks for the info. I went to the second URL and downloaded the DVDXCopy info and then I was able to register online it seems. But now when I I start up the program it comes to the main menu. If I use simple a box comes up with "Could not load your drive info please run drive selector. Can someone please advise how to do this?

    To run drive select.

    Windows start button using XP
    Start>all programs>dvdxcopy>drive select.

If drive select gives a menu, select the appropriate drive.
If drive select appears to do nothing, the drive was automatically selected and all is well.
