1. Verify the media. Make sure you’re using the correct media for your DVD burner. +R or –R. This is a common issue. 2.Run drive select, go to my computer >C-drive> programs files> 321 studios> platinum xpress> drive select, click on it. if you have only one drive it will not show anything, if you have two or more pick out your dvd burner. then go check the pcsetup folder same place as drive select in C drive. click the + sign to see if your burner is listed. and check in device mgr to see if thge vso driver is listed there. for more help on dvdxcopy products go here, http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com/
My burner is a DVD+ReWriteable. It has used DVD+R discs successfully for the last 3 years, but I just tried to burn a movie with the newest firmware but once again the finalizing stage took 10 minutes and the disc was ejected as "burn successfull" but will not play in any dvd player uncluding my laptop dvd player, even though the purple side of disc looks like it has been copied too...
Try and defrag your drive. And, if you have Norton Utilities/System Works, run Norton "WinDoctor" in the "Find and Fix Problems" section. Sometimes little bits of a program get scattered or lost and it takes so long for the HDD to find what it needs that it can cause a failure in fuctionality. ALSO ... DON'T just blow-off media as not being your issue by overlooking the fact that media brands can change manufacturers and your favorite brand of blank disks may not work anymore. Just try buying Sony or another quality brand and try once more. Just to be sure. If that doesn't work then you will probably have to reinstall DXC. Do you still have the original downloaded zip of the .exe? Pop over to the DXC forum and check out the "stickies" for how to reinstall and reactivate. Be sure to go to the right section for your version of DXC. Hope it doesn't become an ordeal for you because 321 is no longer alive and another company is handling authorizations for upgrades, activations and reinstalls. Or post a question to Ireland, over there, for help. I myself still like and use DXC v1.5.2 often (very stable version), but I never liked or upgraded to Platinum. I checked my program files for DXC and it says .exe for Platinum and Xpress "Not found" is that whats causing these problems? If so is there a folder, patch or file I can download and unzip. The Platinum version I have is a two disc set, one disc for the software, the other for the authorization. I have the original XPress software, but I tried to re-install that and it says "Error (7) I have reached my maximum amounts of installations" So how can I get around that?
i will tell you why platinum will not work,you have a crack version, as the 2-set you have proves it as platinum only activates on line..and has only one disk..the 2nd disk is the crack to activate..after a while the program will quit working..and those files (.exe for Platinum and Xpress "Not found" }will quit working. end of story.
i posted to you to go to the dvdxcopy forum for help.. as this forum is not a dvdxcopy forum only people that still has platinum is international the new owners.and the version they are selling is platinum v5..and i would not buy it..as it can not copy the sony protection.. cheers
Ok. But what do you mean the "Sony" version? Also, I have the pre-ban version of DVD XPress, but it will not register anymore, how can I get it to register and use it again?
