OK here is the problem - I installed DVD43 some time ago and never really got into using it much. I went to clean up my computer today and uninstalled a bunch of programs no longer used. One of the programs was DVD43. After I uninstalled it, I found out that neither one of my Disk Drives would work. I have a DVD Read Only Drive and a DVD RW Drive. Both drives were not loading when i bring up My COmputer and neither would read a disk when put in. I looked around for an updated driver for these drives but I could not get em working. Luckily I went to system restore to restore my PC to the ocnfiguration before removing DVD43 and it placed it back and now both drives are working again. My question is - how can I safely remove DVD43 so that my drives will continue to work again after the fact? Thanks IN Advance Ron
Hello. This is an evil program imo. People continually have problems with it screwing up their system. Personally I'd rebuild my system after reformatting the HDD. Did you deactivate DVD43 before trying to uninstall it? Did it still have a smiley face? ScubaPete says do the following: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/203368#1101333
