Hey there all, I have a tsstcorp sh-w162c it will play dvd movies but everytime i go to burn something to dvd it tells me that i don't have a compatible cd to burn with. I have tried both - and + dvd's and same thing.

I'm guessing DVD to a CD is a typo. Perhaps the DVD burner drive, is in need of a FIRMWARE UPDATE. Yahoo or Google the drive (samsung) to see if there is an update for firmware...usually free! Install and re-start your PC for the changes to take effect.

The quality of DVD blanks regardless of -R or +R formats, is paramount. Don't expect the cheapies to perform as well as the BETTER known brands.

    Howd you get on?

No it wasn't a typo that is the message I get everytime I try to burn something onto a DVD disk have tried the cheap ones as i get both good and cheap Blank Dvd's. The firmware update didn't do the trick but I will try another site for an update as previous experience has taught me some are bodgy.
