    I've been having problems using DVD Copy 3 Platnium w/ Nero. Either the menu glitch, or audio problems.

    I also have Shrink, which has been very reliable, and have used for quite awhile now.

    I want to find another software that has better picture quality than DVD Shrink though.

    Question is does Clone DVD2 have better picture quality than Shrink ?

    I used to have CloneDVD2 on my PC but it was a cracked version
    ( not upgradeable).

    I had to re-install my OS & lost CloneDVD2.

    I also have AnyDVD on my PC already.

    I use CloneDVD about 70% of the time now for backups, it is one of the best purchases I ever made. It is faster than Shrink, uses less CPU, quality is comparable, both have a Sharp default, and the reauthoring capabilities are excellent. I am watching Die Hard2 done with Clone on a 32inch set which had 20% compression and the pic is excellent, can do a zoom and no pixels.

    @dabig25

    Not that it is necessarily better,
    Certainly a great program.

    @dabig25. yes shrink is slower than clone2 but if you are willing to deal with the extra time, you shouldn't have to buy clone2. shrink will give you as good of picture as clone2 under the right settings. make sure you do deep analysis and AEC, you'll be find with shrink.
    p:s: clone2 is a great program, if you don't mind spending some $$$, you should buy it. it doesn't hurt to have them both.

    AEC stands for Adaptive Error Compensation, and this is the quality enhancement settings in DVD Shrink. It goes from Max Sharp to Max Smoothness. It is set by the amount of compression needed for the movies. It will enhance the quality of the movie for different amounts of compression. Deep Analysis will also aid in better quality of movie by verifying the overall output quality and help meet the target size better.

    Like arniebear, I use CloneDVD 2 for most of my back-ups since I bought it. I used to use Shrink most of the time. In my opinion, CloneDVD 2 is worth the price I paid & more. The quality seems as good or better in much less time from start to finish. Also, CloneDVD 2 Automatically deletes the files after burning is done. Well worth the money, CloneDVD 2 has a 21 day FREE use trial, try it & make your own choice. Works Extremely well with AnyDVD ! Sold by same company too!

    Someone is selling on Ebay......CloneDVD2,AnyDVD, & Clone CD all for

    just $7.99 includes reg. Key & serial #......

    It seems legal, I bought, AnyDVD from some on Ebay before cheap, for around $10.00

    I've still been able to get all the latest updates with it,from Slysoft.

    I do not think that is Legal at all. Not only that, it's not ethical either. When you purchase a License, it's YOURS. Only you can use it. It's like Operating Systems from Microsoft. One Operating System License per PC. Period. Unless you BUY "Bulk" Licenses. I would NOT buy that from Ebay. Slysoft offers a Great Deal when you buy both AnyDVD & CloneDVD 2 together. They also deserve to be paid for their expert knowlege & superb software! I say NO to that. I say, do it Legal and above board or don't do it. Someone on Ebay is Cheating, I would have no part in that.

    I bought mine from slysoft, I guess I would rather give them my money and keep them in business because by doing so it keeps me burning, just my two cents :)

    I suggest CloneDVD, specialy for its capability to remove layer break from the originals in case of DL discs. This saves money because DL coasters are to expensive. For SL discs I believe that DVDShrink is more flexible in its use.

    I burned a movie over the weekend w/ Shrink & using the AEC & deep analysis.........

    Took a long time, over an hour. Clone DVD2 can do the samething but faster ???

    @dabig25

    When I run CloneDVD it usually takes about 40 to 50 minutes for the full process. Additional burns of the same movie run about 9 to 14 minutes.
    Of course for me speed is not an issue as I want a quality burn.

    It is worth the money.

    Which is better, for using alot of compression......

    I copied Kingdom of Heaven....using Shrink.

    Taking out some of the extra's, I got the compression down to about 60%.
