    I hear you zo. I was just thinking about how I 1st started, and didn't take the suggestions that were given. I ended up taking all of them sooner or later. 1 of them was using quality media. Lol...

    Excuse the double post. I just finished backing up my copy of T2 and here's the log. Now anyone know why a old flic would take over a 1/2 hour w/the latest Fab? Thnx.

    I did have enable read ahead cache unchecked, but that shouldn't be a issue I think. I searched for the ifo files. I think that's their name. Anyhow, please reply w/any input. Thnx.

    dr_ml422,

    I tried to ignore your condescending responses, but you want to keep taking a snips at me. Please don't assume that your status on this forum as a "Member" and mine as just a "Newbie" as meaning that Im new to this game or that you have some superior knowledge over me and my abilities.

    I appreciate your and others response to my question, but just so you understand the point of my post, my question was a MJ question, not a question about backing up DVD's, It was for the software developers of DVDFab to see if they had any other members reporting they had problems with their MJ's working with DVDFab.

    The reason I thought your answer was phrased funny is because you came across to me as condescending. I thanked you all for the responses you gave because I didn't want to be rude by dismissing the obvious suggestions from the board that I had already tried before I had ever posted my question in the first place. I was happy that guys took the time to respond to me, but your response seemed a little snippy. In fact you said this:

    "

    and

    Maybe Im imagining things, but your post seemed a little snippy... For the most part, everyone gave great suggestions, but I know how to disable a port and use the front USB v/s the back one's. Im not here looking for a fight, I've been lurking on this board and others for a long time, I just never signed up, figured Id start asking a few questions and became a member (Newbie)... There you go.

    Life is too short, can we just be friends???

    @jhill

    You might want to post your questions about majic jack on the CD Freaks forum, as one of the dvd fab devolpers posts there and responds quite frequently.

    @ jhill I have no issue w/you as a member or even being friends. We're all here to help each other. I also am not even close to some of the fellas here in their experience. Member status or not. I only pointed out that as some more experienced members including myself posted almost the same fix to your issue, you just totally went on until there was nothing left but take the suggestion anyway.

    No beef buddy. I'm not that kind of a guy. I'm a stand up person. just that Fab has nothing to do w/magic jack so that request was a lil off.

    Now a senior member has provided a link to the other site some of us frequent as well. That's about 4 of us already w/a good suggestion. It's not personal at all.

    Otn, I think the current stable version of fab has some bug where the 1st flic backed up will buzz right through, but the second 1 will take about a 1/2 hour to back up. This happened on both my 2yr. old Dell, and my Monster new build, so it's not the pcs. Also the flics were all different, including the second one that takes longer. I don't like trying the betas so I don't know if this was fixed in the last 2 beta updates.

    Any input greatly appreciated. I also checked and unchecked read ahead cache in both instances w/same reults.

    I would agree with Berryone.

    I think these type of questions, including jhills and the doc's are better suited in the open forum as opposed to here.

    Just my opinion though.

    I don't even know what Magic Jack is, hence i might be wrong but i don't know that it has any relevance to DVDFab...

    The only relevance is that Magic-Jack can cause a conflict with both(?) DvdFab and AnyDVD.

    That being said, my knowledge of Magic-Jack is relatively limited as well.

    How's you Creakster?

    I think "Majic Jack" whatever it is should go to another forum because every time I get an update I'm thinking there is a new release for Fab & that's the reason I signed up for this thread. Not to hear folks going back & forth over minute issues that I know nothing about. Thread is titled "DVDFab Official/Beta release thread" I thought.

    Indeed, whatever Magic Jack is, it has no place in this Release thread, jhill1023 please start your own thread for this..

    If I remember correctly, its kind of a "do-it-yourself" VOIP.. You pay for the hardware (not sure if they give you a phone # or not, or if you can port your existing phone #).. You plug it into a USB port on your computer, plug your phone in, and you can make and receive phone calls...

    Course, it'll only work when its plugged in or you have no phone.

    @creaky

    Magic Jack is basically a free second phone line that uses your pc, I guess much like a Cox cable phone. You order a zippo lighter sized gizmo and plug it into any powered USB port and plug a phone in the other end of gizmo. The software opens immediately and sends you to it's planet where you give them the info they ask for and they assign you a phone number for any area code you might want. This gives you unlimited long distance service to US and I believe Canada. The first charge is $44 for gizmo. Then 13 months later if you like it it's $20 a year. That's $64 for first 2 years. about $2.60 a month. If you have someone in a foreign country you can buy two and that'll get you free long distance to the world where there is broadband. I keep mine unplugged so I get no one I want calling at odd hours. Can't tell the difference in my land line.

    It doesn't work properly with ANYDVD or DVDFab enabled-but has no problem with them not in use!
