Hi creaky. I'm getting a lil confused w/all these new versions. Will DVDFab 8 eventually replace DVDFab 7? Also why this DVDFab 7.5.0.8 Beta if DVDFab 8.0.0.5 is out as well? Thnx. I read the read me history already, I'm just thrown off by the different versions.

Tell me about it, i have to keep clearing down my utils folder, it's always full of Fab updates!. I don't know the full story, i just installed the newest one and it shows as Platinum as i'd bought whichever version ages ago. I now have 4.1.20, 5.2.5.0, 6.2.2.0 Beta, 6.0.9.3 and 8.0.0.5 installed, all are Platinum.

Thnx creaky. I've stuck w/Fab cause I'm used to it and it does the job. Only thing ever irked me was the constant updates as now, together w/all these new features/versions that in a way sound/seem the same. I mean isn't DVDFab a ripper already? Why come out w/a version called DVDFab Ripper if in fact it looks like a encoder as Rebuilder, AutoGK etc...?

As soon as this gets settled I'll be buying Passkey and just rip the darn backup. Hope they don't turn Passkey into several different versions also.

Isn't Anydvd a ripper anyway? DVDFab is a ripper too no? You have to rip the disc before any backups/copying. What exactly will this DVDFab Ripper do that the regular DVDFab doesn't do w/DVDs/Blu-ray?

Passkey is an "on the fly" background ripper like AnyDVD. Which would allow you to rip using Imgburn or some other Writer. Regarding the new "module" names I was confused as well. I thought "DVD Copy" was like DVD Clone, "DVD Ripper" was the Decrypter and "Video Converter" was the DVD to Mobile Option. But "DVD Copy" is the main component, DVD Ripper is the DVD to Mobile and Video converter is for converting mpegs and wmv for your portable devices.

To all: the only time I tried pass key it didn't work. AnyDVD did, so I never tried it again- will try it on next movie. I'm like yall, I have no idea why there are so many different versions of Fab. I have 6,7 and now 8, all installed.

Thnx malynch69. I knew what passkey was, though no clue in a way what the new "modules" were. That DVD Ripper looks like a encoder app..
