I have had my dvd burner since october and in the last 2 months my dvd's that I have copied have started to skip about half way through the movie. I am using dvd decrypter to rip the movies and clone dvd 2 to write them. I have noticed that when making my own movies using movie files I have downloaded from the net it also starts freezing about 20 mins in. What can I do? First off what type of blank media are you using? Alot of the problems can be traced back to that, also do the movies work fine in your pc? I would try playing them in your friends/ other family members players. Sometimes it is a compatibility issue with your dvd Player.
I don't know if this is your problem but I see you have InCD installed. That program has known conflicts with some DVD copying programs. Perhaps you can try uninstalling InCD. HW.
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/174043 Read the 4th post down, has alot of great info on disks in general. It does sound like a media problem. Also, try to avoid multitasking when you're actually shrinking the movie...that also effects playback quality.
Hi, I've been sucessfully burning until about 3 wks ago, at the same time I bought and installed scanner software and now at the end of burning I get error msgs saying the burn has failed. When I try to play the discs the images are frozen. I can see that I have this InCD, can anyone tell me what it is so I can see if I need it or not? Like I said, I cannot burn anything at the moment! Thanks, Lilian
Hi again, it can't be the InCD that's bugging my system as I've had that programme for longer than I've had this burning prob. It's to do with decrypter according to the error msg. My platform is win xp. the error msg is 1A20-0220-0130-1466-3897-3701* Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.59, size=160016 bytes, created 11/11/2003 14:49:52 Nero API version: 6.3.0.0 Using interface version: 6.3.1.4 Installed in: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\ Application: ahead\Nero - Burning Rom Recorder: < VOM-12E48X> Version: 100A - HA 1 TA 0 - 6.3.0.0 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : via Inquiry data (1) -> ATAPI, detected: ATAPI Connected to MMC as unknown drive with class-nr : 1 Drive is autodetected - recorder class: Std. I can see that I have this InCD, can anyone tell me what it is so I can see if I need it or not? Like I said, I cannot burn anything at the moment! Hi again, it can't be the InCD that's bugging my system as I've had that programme for longer than I've had this burning prob. liliand, InCD is packet writing software and no, more than likely you do not need it. Also just because you've had it for longer than you've had the problem does not mean it can't be causing the problem. It can and does cause conflict with other DVD software. You could've done something else to cause it to conflict with your current burning issues. I would recommend uninstalling it and use Nero Clean tools to completely remove it from the registry. Also, skipping is a sign of bad or poor media. Bad media is inconsistant, some may work while others don't, even tho it's the very same media or even from the same batch. You can get + or - Riteks for under .50 each w/free shipping and they are very dependable. Verbatim are a little more expensive but also very good. Anything by MCC is usually good. Download and install DvdInfopro, the free version is all you need and check out your disc's manufacturer.
ginnane, Uninstall InCD using nero clean tools, then uninstall your drives. Then reboot your PC and let windows automatically reinstall your drives. That should clear up your problem.
