apologies if this is not the correct forum.

My new PC has a DVI output. I am trying to find a product that will convert it to normal S-video, SCART etc so I can plug in into my normal TV that is not Hi-Def

I have a long cable with the yellow, red & white phono plugs that I want to use.

Can anyone tell me what product I need to buy?

    many thanks

You might be able to find an RF modulator that has that type of connector on it and that will convert it for you.

Does your Graphics card not have S video out?
Most do these days. DVI to S-video isnt really feasible

no it just had DVI and VGA. My computer had to be sent back because of a hadware fault anyway so i'm not sure whether i will end up with the same model.

Anyway just thought i must be able to get a VGA output to my TV and then just get sound from the usual 3.5mm jack.

VGA is a different type of signal that your tv wont be able to handle (unless we're talking about a HDTV).

    What computer do you have?
You might want to consider buying a new Graphics card with S-video if its that important to you.
They can be as cheap as £20 if you just intend on using it for normal usage and not gaming.

I'll have to see whether it is getting repaired/replaced or whether i'm getting a new model. I was a bit miffed that it didn't have s-Video in the first place.

    I'll let you know...
