    Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me the reason for my Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-107D not being able to read DVDs and why despite my best efforts it keeps selecting the CD driver instead of DVD driver? What can i do to remedy this. It doesn't recognise the DVD driver at all.

The drive may need a firmware update to help it correctly recognize media types.

If you have DVD decrypter, you can use it to check for an update for you that you can download and install.

get dvd decrypter here if needed

    Here's how to use it

Also if it's blank media it's having problems with, check with the drive's manufacturer's site to see if they provide a list of tested media for the drive.
