Was just wondering if it is usual to take an hour to convert an .avi file to DVD? I am sure it is but just wanted to make sure. I use the 4X setting.

Basic answer...YES mine sometimes take a little longer, depending on size of AVI files.

    Hi,

Conversion time may vary, on the same PC.

Depends on the quality of the input file (Not sure but may affect)
What kind of Audio & Video Streams are inside the .AVI (How was it encoded)

What priority level have you set for the conversion ?
Any other applications running on the same PC ?

Yep, an average 1 1/2 hour movie (700,b .AVI) takes between 45 minutes to just over an hour sometimes !

    I have a P4 @ 3.2ghz with 1.5gb ram (533 mhz)
