I didn't know exactly where to put this thread...so sorry if it's in the wrong place.

I have some footage on a DVD-R that was recorded from a camcorder. I want to edit it in windows movie maker. I just want to be able to post it on youtube or myspace. If someone could help I'd appreciate it. thakns

WMM does not accept DVD-Video files. It will let you capture camcorder footage though. If you still have the original video on the camera.
If not, then you need to convert the DVD-Video from the disc into a file format acceptable to WMM.

    To see what these are...
Open WMM, click "File" then "Import into Collections...".
Look at the Files of type drop-down menu to see what file types are acceptable.
You will then need a converter to convert the DVD-Video from the disc into one of those types. .avi is a good choice.

I'd use something like the MAX DVD to AVI converter.

You could also Google for a converter, there are quite a few.

Once the DVD is converted to an acceptable file format, WMM will be able to use it.
