I want ot erase everything off my hard drive because i rarely use it because it is extremely slow and there is so much stuff on it. THere is really nothing i need on it and I already took everything out. I almost formatted my hard drive but then i realized i had the recovery disc and not the windows xp install disc. How would I get rid of most this without formatting?

is this an external drive or internal. if it is your c drive then you could delete files manualy and then right click tools and defrage hard drive. that should speed it up a little. if it is an external just right click and format
